Buddy Bell from My Big Fat Fabulous Life is said to have been on drugs when he went missing for more than a week leaving co-star Whitney Thore worried for his welfare.
Last week’s episode saw Whitney and Buddy’s on-off girlfriend Heather trying to find out what had happened to him, and being left startled after going into his bedroom to find it overly tidy and with many of his possessions gone.
The episode ended on a cliff-hanger with Whitney revealing her fears that something may have happened to him, while this week’s episode sees Whitney find out the truth about exactly what happened after meeting with Buddy’s parents.
She decides to go after talking to Buddy’s friend Zach, who as first reported by People told her about Buddy’s drug use. In the sneak peek clip below, it is revealed that while Buddy confided in Zach about what the problem was, Zach also doesn’t know where Buddy is.
Whitney is evidently scared that something may have happened to him while he struggled to deal with the issue. She says: “My mind is racing right now with all the possibilities of where Buddy could be, and I think we have every reason to be really, really worried.
“I’m imagining the worst, like was he arrested? Or in trouble? Or had gotten involved with the wrong kind of people? What if I never see Buddy again? I don’t understand any of this. I’ve never known anything about this kind of thing, and I feel helpless because I don’t know what to do and I don’t know what to think.”
When she asks Zach if Buddy’s brother Phil knew about the problem, he says that Buddy “tries to keep it hidden from people that he cares about most.”
Whitney says: “I’m glad that Buddy was able to be open with Zach about his problem, and it sounds like he knew that it was a problem and he wanted help. And if something awful has happened to him before he could get that help…I am never going to forgive myself.”
