Rock bottom as camp breaks up on Naked and Afraid XL

Naked and Afraid XL
Hunting for big game on Naked and Afraid XL: a high-reward, high-risk strategy

Naked and Afraid hits week 5 and the newly formed tribe has to break up the camp when Steven and Darrin don’t come back from their hunting expedition.

The show follows a group of naked survivalists as they try to deal with the dangers and challenges of living in the South African Badlands.

Last week we saw the various groups finally come together to form a loose tribe. This was a cause of celebration for many of the contestants but some were less than happy.

Darrin was sceptical, saying: “The negatives of a group dynamic are people are going to bicker, people are going to cry, there’s going to people who don’t pull their weight…you know, it sucks.”

The first night at camp also brought home some of the issues of being in such proximity with some additional nightly noises causing amusement.

Careful what you eat or it could be a survival fail
Careful what you eat or it could be a survival fail and some retching or worse!

Many of the alpha guys also tried to exert their authority with bragging on about who was the best hunter. Too many chiefs and not enough indians is how one of the women described it.

Also what episode would not have been complete without some survival fails and the resulting vomiting.

Plus there was falling branches, dodgy water plus tick bites in the eye and, eye-wateringly…the penis!

In tonight’s episode we should get to see how the tribe dynamic matures and what is holding up the two hunters.

Catch Naked and Afraid XL Sundays 10/9c on Discovery.
