The drunken behavior and remarks from Ashton Pienaar on the recent episode of Below Deck left fans furious.

Ashton kept hitting on Courtney Skippon, even though he knew Brian De Saint had eyes for her. Brian and Courtney spent the day together, but that didn’t stop a drunk Ashton for trying to put the moves on her.

He even went as far as to kiss Kate in an attempt to make Courtney jealous. After listening to a drunk Ashton talk smack about Brian, Courtney headed to bed alone. Once back in his room, Ashton told Kevin he was tired of having to “work so hard to get his d**k sucked.”

The episode ended with his remarks, leaving the bosun looking like a jerk to fans. Ashton wasted no time taking to Twitter to issue an apology to fans for his behavior and words.

“A tough episode at the end for me to watch tonight. I am not proud of my state or the things I said tonight. Apologies to anyone offended. I will learn from this and be better. #liveandlearn #belowdeck,” Ashton wrote.

The apology became flooded with fan responses. Several users expressed their frustration with Ashton, especially when it comes to his drinking. People were quick to remind him that actions speak louder than words.

Fans also let Ashton know that the episode was not a good look for him, drunk or sober. Fans expressed their hope that he took his own apology and actions on the Bravo TV show to heart.

It was also pointed out to him that saying “apologies” is not the same as saying “I’m sorry.” Some social media users felt his words were not the same as truly being sorry for his actions and remarks.

Captain Lee Rosbach responded to his coworker’s apology with support and praise.

“I bet it was pal, but way to own it and not back away from taking responsibility for your actions,” replied the captain.

Not all Twitter fans came at Ashton. Several users stood by his apology and took the “we all make mistakes” approach with him. Fans also pointed out it was good that he recognized his behavior was inappropriate and disrespectful so he can change it moving forward.

Below Deck airs Mondays at 9/8c on Bravo.
