Women’s plans for WrestleMania 35
This should come as no surprise.
However, originally there were two other ideas in line before Lynch exploded in popularity.
The first was the long-anticipated Ronda Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair match. When the WWE gave that match away at the Survivor Series, it seemed they had already planned on switching the emphasis back onto Lynch.
The other plan was an older one where Ronda Rousey would defend her title against Natalya. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, that idea was completely scrapped after the death of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart.
The WWE had Rousey battle Natalya on Monday Night Raw this week and it ended with the two hugging after the match, looking to eliminate any chance of a heel turn for Natalya.
Rousey vs. Lynch at WrestleMania 35
As most people have guessed, Ronda Rousey will almost surely be facing Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 35, so these WWE rumors are nothing new.
The question now is whether that match is big enough to main event the show. The women have never main evented a WrestleMania, but most expected Ronda Rousey to be involved when it happened.
There have been some WWE rumors that Charlotte was promised a main event spot at WrestleMania but the Newsletter reports that those claims are false.
However, there is still a chance that the WWE could make this a three-way match between Ronda Rousey, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch.
There is no word on if they would main event the show and there is no word on if the Raw women’s title would be on the line. Both Flair and Lynch are SmackDown Live superstars at this time.
Now, thanks to Becky Lynch, the women’s time might have finally arrived to prove that they deserve to be named among the best WWE wrestlers of all time.
