When Ronda Rousey missed out on her chance to win the WWE Monday Night Raw women’s title, she lost it.

The night after WWE Money in the Bank, on Monday Night Raw, Rousey came down during Alexa Bliss’ championship celebration and faced the woman who beat her down the night before.

After Bliss called Rousey an “overhyped rookie,” Rousey destroyed Bliss before also beating up Raw general manager Kurt Angle and a number of security officers. As a result, Angle issued a 30-day suspension for Rousey.

Alexa Bliss will defend her WWE Monday Night Raw women’s title against Nia Jax at Extreme Rules on July 15. According to PWInsider, Rousey is scheduled to appear on Raw on July 16 — the next night.

This is no surprise.

The tickets for SummerSlam have Ronda Rousey printed on them and there was never any doubt that Rousey would appear at the second biggest event of the year for the WWE. The question is whether Rousey comes back and gets the immediate title shot against Bliss or Jax at that event.

There was some trepidation about Ronda Rousey and her transition into the world of professional wrestling. However, after her match against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at WrestleMania and her performance against Nia Jax at Money in the Bank, those fears have subsided.

There is even talk about Ronda Rousey main eventing a PPV, something few WWE women have ever done. As a matter of fact, Sasha Banks and Charlotte Flair were the first two women to ever main event a WWE PPV.

There is some doubt that a Ronda Rousey vs. Alexa Bliss match will main event any PPV. However, this might be the sign that the WWE feels safe with Rousey as the champion — even though she has only wrestled in two matches in her entire WWE career.

The main event might come in 2019 at WrestleMania if the WWE moves forward with a Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey match. For now, expect Rousey back on Monday Night Raw in just three weeks and she can go from there.
