A lot of WWE fans seem to really hate Baron Corbin right now, but not just as a villain. Many fans are threatening to quit watching Monday Night Raw because of Corbin.

This past Monday’s episode of Raw was the lowest rated in history with only 2.194 million viewers.

However, it can’t just be Corbin because SmackDown Live had its second-lowest viewers ever with 1.977 million — despite its second week in a row of critically praised action.

While many fans are blaming Baron Corbin as the authority figure, WWE Hall of Fame superstar Mark Henry sees things differently. Henry believes that Corbin is doing a great job in the WWE.

“Baron Corbin is a guy that was athletic, passionate about being a wrestler and wanting to be good at it,” Henry told Busted Open Radio. “If you look at the body of work that he’s put out already, he’s on the right path. And whether you like him or not, according to the role that he’s playing, then, that’s just tough!”

Mark Henry pointed out that Baron Corbin did all the right things when he came in. He said Corbin has a love of professional wrestling and has worked hard to improve and get better.

As an authority figure, Baron Corbin is supposed to be hated, so he is doing his job right.

There is also one other very important factor to consider.

Many WWE fans hate how Corbin is abusing his power every week — but that is the point. Mr. McMahon did the same thing and he is considered one of the WWE’s greatest villains.

Baron Corbin has to do evil things and make fans mad because that is the only way to get them excited to see someone like Braun Strowman beat him and take him out of power at TLC. If Corbin wasn’t doing these evil things, why would anyone care if he loses his power or not?

When one wrestling writer talked about the embarrassing rating on Monday Night Raw this week, Seth Rollins spoke out and mentioned how writing five hours of WWE television a week is not easy.

Former WWE writer Jimmy Jacobs agreed and when a fan said they should do less, he pointed out that the WWE is a business and the extra television is how they make money, so that is out of the question.

Baron Corbin is scheduled to wrestle Braun Strowman at WWE TLC with his role as the general manager on the line — hopefully the conclusion to this story.
