Last night on WWE Monday Night Raw, there were two characters that changed from bad guys into faces and one then switched from a beloved face to a heel.

It seemed like a lot, especially since Bobby Lashley just turned heel a couple of weeks ago, but the changes all made sense in the end.

Cageside Seats reports that the entire reason that Braun Strowman and Elias made babyface turns on Monday Night Raw was that Roman Reigns left and Dean Ambrose turned heel.

Braun Strowman turning face made the most sense, but the WWE felt they needed to make some alterations to keep the heel-face dynamic even.

Braun Strowman WWE face turn

The Braun Strowman WWE face turn was in the works before Roman Reigns learned of the return of his leukemia. That diagnosis only happened within the last six days for Roman and plans had to change quickly.

Luckily, Braun Strowman turned on his partners last week when he power slammed Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre hit him with the Claymore Kick as revenge.

It was fully expected that Braun Strowman was about to become a face again. Before he turned heel, he was one of the most popular wrestlers on Monday Night Raw, so this will be a positive move.

Braum Strowman will face Brock Lesnar at WWE Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia in two weeks to determine who will replace Roman Reigns as the new Universal Champion.

It also appears that Braun Strowman will start a feud with Drew McIntyre on Monday Night Raw.

Elias WWE face turn

The most shocking WWE face turn on Monday Night Raw was that of Elias.

Over the last year, Elias has become one of the most entertaining villains on Monday Night Raw and has perfected mocking the crowd during his musical performances.

However, the WWE fans have been chanting along with his “Walk With Elias” quote and cheer him until he personally insults their city and then they play along and boo him.

Last night on Monday Night Raw, Elias finished a two-week feud with Apollo Crews by winning. it seemed strange to end the feud so quickly until the show returned from commercial.

Elias wanted to sing his song and then acting commissioner Baron Corbin came out and told him he couldn’t sing. Corbin then told him to get off the stage or he would fire him.

Elias left and as Corbin smirked and kept talking to the crowd, Elias came back out and smashed Corbin with his guitar in the back. Since Corbin is one of the most hated men on Monday Night Raw, it was an immediate babyface turn for Elias.

Now the question is whether or not Elias can work as well as a babyface as he did as a heel.

Dean Ambrose WWE heel turn

The Dean Ambrose heel turn is the most controversial.

WWE Monday Night Raw started with Roman Reigns announcing he was leaving the WWE due to the return of his leukemia. After his speech, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose came out and hugged their Shield partner.

However, it has to be noted that for the last two months, the WWE has teased that Dean Ambrose was maybe going to turn on his brothers.

In the main event, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins won the Raw tag team titles from Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre — thanks partially to the help of Braun Strowman.

However, after the match, Ambrose flipped and attacked Rollins. Ambrose kept talking to himself and to Rollins. Even when Seth told Dean it was ok, Ambrose kept the attack up and kept acting like Rollins was saying something to him.

It all ended with Ambrose pulling back the mats on the floor and hitting Rollins with his Dirty Deeds DDT onto the concrete.

It was a massive beatdown and the best heel turn in a long time. However, was the night that Roman Reigns left the WWE the right time to pull it off?

Honestly, it was the perfect time.

Dean Ambrose is now the psycho heel that fans have wanted to see for years and he and Seth Rollins can move to the top of the card in a feud that should easily satisfy fans as Roman Reigns is at home fighting leukemia.
