Brock Lesnar was supposed to end his current deal with the WWE and move on to start training for his UFC return but things changed.

When Roman Reigns announced his leukemia had returned, the WWE offered Lesnar more money for more dates and gave the WWE Universal Championship back to him.

The main WWE rumors now indicate that Lesnar will hold that title all the way until WrestleMania 35 and wrestle a few more matches between now and then.

Dana White was asked about the new deal that Lesnar signed with the WWE and about how that could affect the rumored UFC fight between Lesnar and UFC Champion Daniel Cormier.

White said that it was a guy he met with in PR this week that told him about Lesnar’s new WWE contract. He said that a new WWE deal in no way prevents Lesnar from fighting in the UFC.

Remember, Brock Lesnar’s last fight in the UFC was against Mark Hunt and he was still under contract to the WWE at the time, following that fight up with a severe beating of Randy Orton at SummerSlam that year.

Now, Dana White did say that it was not a guarantee that Brock Lesnar would get the fight against Daniel Cormier. He said that he would either call Lesnar or a guy at 205.

White didn’t mean someone at 205 Live either. He said that he would either set up a match with Lesnar or he will have someone in the 205 weight limit fight because Cormier also wants to compete at that level.

For now, Dana White said that Daniel Cormier is hurt so it doesn’t really matter and he has no need to call Brock Lesnar yet. However, when the time comes he will make the decision.
