When Curt Hawkins showed up on Monday Night Raw last night, it was a comedy sketch that had him wrestling a local indie wrestler who called himself James Harden. So, who is James Harden on WWE Monday Night Raw?
Rest assured, even though Monday Night Raw took place in Houston last night, the James Harden wrestling in this match was not the Houston Rockets All-Pro known for his beard. Instead, this James Harden is local Houston indie wrestler Will Lockhart.
He also isn’t a stranger to at least one WWE Hall of Fame superstar. Color commentator Corey Graves said that he wished Booker T could have been on commentary to let fans know information about James Harden.
Jonathan Coachman missed Raw last night to work a golf tournament and was replaced by David Otunga, instead of Booker T. That is unfortunate because the James Harden on WWE television last night is a student of Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion in Houston.
Yes, James Harden — the man who beat Curt Hawkins by disqualification last night — is a student trained by WWE Hall of Fame superstar, Booker T.
Congrats to my student from @TheOfficialROW Will Lockhart aka James Harden for having a match on #RAW tonight and WINNING! Sorry @TheCurtHawkins, thanks @BaronCorbinWWE, Ha! #DigThat pic.twitter.com/Ya2tMQCY5e

The WWE Monday Night Raw segment saw Curt Hawkins come to the ring and pass a table full of tacos. Hawkins has not won a match since making his return to the WWE and had a record of 0-199. He said he would make history and not lose that 200th match in a row. He also said that, when he won, he would treat the entire Houston crowd with free tacos.
Hawkins then introduced his opponent, who said his name was James Harden. Hawkins thought that was unlikely but then the two started their match. Hawkins dominated the smaller wrestler until Baron Corbin’s music started and he walked to the ring. Corbin got into the ring and hit his End of Days on Harden — causing Hawkins to lose by DQ and extend his losing streak to 200.
Corbin then dumped all the tacos on the ground and walked off laughing at the crowd.
The win was a special one for James Harden as well. This year, he wrestled in Reality of Wrestling’s TV tapings in January, February and March. He lost his matches in all three of the TV tapings, so this is not only a big win for him but his biggest profile match to date all thanks to the WWE.
Thanks to the WWE and Booker T, now everyone knows who James Harden is — at least the WWE version.
