The WWE has big plans this year and part of it includes their WWE FYC event. What is the WWE FYC? It is the WWE’s chance to try to put their name in the hat for Emmy nominations.
The WWE set up their inaugural “For Your Consideration” event in North Hollywood on Wednesday. These are events that are directed towards voting groups who help decide what shows are worthy of possibly award nominations for ceremonies like the Oscars and Emmys.
The WWE FYC event is a chance to get WWE programming considered for the Emmy Awards this year. However, as Forbes reported earlier in the week, this was not about getting Monday Night Raw or SmackDown Live an Emmy nomination as a running TV series.
Instead, the WWE is looking at getting some of their specialty shows recognized by the Emmys. The WWE had private screenings this week for three shows that they hope will get some consideration for the Emmys.

Those shows were the:
- WWE Monday Night Raw 25th Anniversary Special
- The Mixed Match Challenge
- WWE 24: Empowered
Of course, the 25th Anniversary special was the Monday Night Raw episode that looked back on the last 25 years of the series history and even brought out many stars from the past.
The Mixed Match Challenge is the only in-ring wrestling series that the WWE submitted for consideration. This was a series that aired on Facebook that featured a tag team tournament where a man and woman on one team took on a man and woman on another until only one team was left standing.
That was the WWE’s first attempt at a live Facebook wrestling event.

Finally, WWE 24: Empowered is a documentary that showed the rise of the WWE Women’s Revolution. This has been a focus of the WWE for the past few years, as women have started to get a spotlight and wrestled in the same types of matches that the men have wrestled in over history.
The WWE FYC event opened with a video introduction from Dwayne Johnson, as The Rock talked about how the WWE deserves this recognition and awards consideration.

Also on hand for the event was Stephanie McMahon and Triple H, who has been there all week working on setting up WWE FYC. Also appearing was Roman Reigns, Ronda Rousey, Braun Strowman, Shawn Michaels, The Usos, Alexa Bliss, The New Day, The Bella Twins, Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair, Sasha Banks, and more.
