Roman Reigns announced late in 2018 that he was stepping away from the WWE due to his leukemia returning. There have been few Roman Reigns updates since then.

That changed this week as Chris Jericho was doing interviews about his new signing with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and gave an update on Roman Reigns leukemia treatment.

Roman Reigns update

Jericho did an interview with Chris Van Vlietspoke of WSVN-TV and revealed that he has been in touch with Roman Reigns during the WWE superstar’s leukemia treatment.

Jericho said that Reigns is undergoing his treatment and that things are going really well.

He also admitted that he doesn’t know much about what the endgame looks like or what being “cured” means in this case, but he talks to him quite a bit both in a large group text chat and in private messages on the side between just the two of them.

Jericho said that Reigns seems to be doing well every time they speak and is remaining in good spirits, which is a positive trait. Jericho said that he is sure that Reigns will beat this and return to the ring — but more importantly, he will stay healthy for his family.

Chris Jericho updates on AEW

Jericho also talked about his AEW contract after his surprise appearance at the AEW wrestling rally last week.

For wrestling fans who doubt the seriousness of AEW wrestling to compete with the WWE for talent, Jericho said that this was the best contract of his career — including the ones he signed with the WWE.

“Then when you have a billionaire getting involved, suddenly you have the biggest offer of my career — by far — I couldn’t say no. For the next three years, it’s AEW.”

He also said that he really hopes that Kenny Omega will sign with AEW because that is the last of the big free agents out there right now. Although he also mentioned that CM Punk is not a free agent but a retired wrestler.

Finally, Chris Jericho put the debate to rest about his relationship with WWE.

He said he spoke to Vince McMahon before signing the deal and said that there is no ill will and McMahon understood why Jericho made this decision based on the business.
