Lio Rush made his long-awaited WWE 205 Live debut this week and impressed a lot of fans with his crisp in-ring moves and charismatic attitude. But, who is Lio Rush?

Believe it or not, Lio Rush is only 23-years-old and has only been wrestling professionally for four years. However, while it often takes other wrestlers many years to hit it big, Lio Rush was almost an instant star.

Lio Rush trained at the MCW Training Center in Maryland and started winning titles his very first year in the profession at the age of 19. He picked up quality wins over names like Impact Wrestling’s Eddie Edwards and Lucha Underground’s Matt Cross.

He also had some impressive matches over his first three years in the industry, wrestling in Pro Wrestling Guerilla against NXT superstar Ricochet, Combat Zone Wrestling against former ROH world champion Davey Richards, and then Ring of Honor itself.

It was in Ring of Honor that Lio Rush became an international star. He wrestled there from 2015 through 2017 and won the prestigious Top Prospect Tournament in 2016. He got a world title match against Jay Lethal. After two years of action there, Lio Rush gave his notice and left for the WWE.

Sadly, just when it looked like the youngster had made it to the top, he made a mistake on social media. After the WWE released superstar Emma, Lio Rush made a joke about her release, which angered a lot of wrestlers and promoters backstage.

The WWE immediately pulled him from the NXT events he had scheduled for almost three months. However, his talent was undeniable and after he apologized, the WWE gave him a second chance.

Lio Rush finally made his debut on 205 Live as a cocky and brash youngster who loves to show off. He wrestled an enhancement talent named Dewey James in his first match, embarrassed his opponent, and looked spectacular, winning his debut match easily.

It looks like Lio Rush will be a huge part of WWE 205 Live from here on.

205 Live airs on Tuesday nights at 10 p.m. EST on the WWE Network.
