The news that Matt Hardy is about to leave WWE has got many fans wondering what will happen with Jeff Hardy. It sounds like WWE is making a push to keep one, if not both, of the Hardy Boyz.
WWE revealed that Jeff Hardy will make his long-awaited return to WWE television this week.
Jeff Hardy WWE television return
Much like John Morrison before him, it looks like Jeff Hardy will show up on WWE Backstage before he finally returns to the ring.
WWE took to Twitter to reveal that Hardy will be on WWE Backstage this week for a special sit-down interview.
“This Tuesday’s #WWEBackstage guest will be none other than… @JEFFHARDYBRAND!!! @FS1 @ReneeYoungWWE @BookerT5x”
While it is not a return to the ring, and the Fox Sports 1 show is produced by Fox and not WWE (which is why CM Punk appears on the show), this almost surely means that Hardy will be back in WWE sooner rather than later.

Jeff Hardy has been out of action since November 2018.
While it seems hard to believe, Jeff Hardy has been out of WWE for almost 16 months. He and Matt Hardy were the WWE SmackDown tag team champs and had to vacate the titles when Jeff needed surgery.
While predictions indicated that Jeff was supposed to return in November 2019, it never happened.
Jeff was arrested in July 2019 for public intoxication. That was something WWE could have overlooked (Jeff was passed out in a stairwell), but what happened next caused WWE to pause on bringing him back.
Jeff was arrested and charged with a DWI in October.
The time Jeff Hardy was out with injury allowed WWE to add more time to his contract, so even though Matt Hardy’s contract ends this month, Jeff is still under contract for a few more months.
What about Matt Hardy?
The biggest rumors are that Matt Hardy might be heading to AEW when his contract with WWE ends.
With AEW having a big angle right now with the Dark Order promising their Exalted One is coming, Matt Hardy is still the top contender to take that spot in his Broken Matt persona.
However, with WWE seemingly ready to bring back Jeff Hardy, could they be pushing to keep Matt Hardy as well?
Rumor has it that WWE has offered Matt Hardy a position with NXT, maybe not as a wrestler but as a behind-the-scenes part of their creative team.
If Jeff Hardy returns, all eyes will turn on his brother’s future decisions.
WWE Backstage airs on Tuesday nights at 11/10c on Fox Sports 1.
