In news that might shock people who hate anything not named the WWE, the tickets for AEW Double or Nothing sold out in 25 minutes.
What makes this so shocking is that the event takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. The arena can hold 17,157 people at its capacity but that number is likely lower for this event due to the entrance stage.
In even bigger news — Wrestling Inc reports that the tickets sold out in the pre-sale. The event didn’t even go on sale to the public yet, although there were a few tickets withheld from the pre-sale for the general sale.
The general public tickets go on sale on Wednesday at 12 p.m. EST.
The AEW Double or Nothing event selling out is also impressive since there are only four matches announced — although all are “dream matches.”
The main event looks to be Chris Jericho vs. Kenny Omega. The two originally battled in New Japan in what was one of the company’s best matches of 2018.
Next up is Young Bucks vs. Lucha Bros, which puts the top team in AEW against one of the best teams in the world today in Penta Zero and Fenix.
Hangman Adam Page has been putting on great matches in Ring of Honor for the past few years and he will battle the former Neville — now using his original name of PAC again.
Finally, SCU will team up against Japanese legend CIMA and two wrestlers from the Chinese wrestling promotion OWE — a match that is sure to be a unique experience American wrestling fans have never seen before.
AEW Double or Nothing takes place on May 25, 2019 in Las Vegas.
