Tom Brady is expected to officially join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The news arrived as NFL free agency moves are happening right and left, but TB12 changing teams is the biggest story around.
Brady will now attempt to take the Bucs back to the Super Bowl after a disappointing season for both himself and Tampa Bay. It also ends a major dynasty for the New England Patriots.
Tom Brady to join Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Earlier on Tuesday, Tom Brady sent shockwaves around the sports world with his social media posts. They indicated he was leaving New England as he thanked the fans. It quickly ended the speculation about whether or not he was going to hang up his cleats or join a new team.
While there is no official confirmation or signing date yet, ESPN is reporting that sources told Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington that Brady is expected to sign with Tampa Bay.
The 42-year-old Brady had 41 playoff starts dating back to 2001 and collected six Super Bowl rings during his 20-year career with New England.
However, he was visibly frustrated with his team’s lack of success last season. The Patriots fell to the Tennessee Titans in the postseason. It was a season in which the Patriots had wide receivers Josh Gordon and Antonio Brown, but both were released under different circumstances. It was also Brady’s first season in quite some time without tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Brady has mentioned that he wants to continue playing until the age of 45, so that may give Tampa Bay a three-year window in which to claim at least another Lombardi trophy or two. Buccaneers fans are certainly excited over the possibilities, as this ends their struggles with Jameis Winston as QB.
Madden 20 previews Tom Brady in Buccaneers jersey
For the Madden 20 video game, Tom Brady holds a 91 overall for their player ratings. That’s fifth amongst active quarterbacks in the game. Ahead of the former Patriots QB are Lamar Jackson, Drew Brees, Russell Wilson, and Patrick Mahomes.
EA’s Madden 20 video game shared a brief video clip with fans on Twitter which begins with Tom Brady in his New England Patriots jersey.
As the video progresses, TB12 transforms into his new uniform, sporting the Tampa Bay Buccaneer’s color scheme including silver, red, gray, and white.

Since the move isn’t official yet, the video game roster has yet to update to reflect Brady’s move or other moves like Philip Rivers to the Colts.
Most likely, there are video game fans who have already made the Madden 20 roster move so they can see how TB12 performs as a member of TB’s roster.
Meanwhile, football fans are hoping to see the NFL season start as planned. It’s slated to begin in September, barring any postponements.
