During the big Philadelphia Eagles game against the New England Patriots, a number of viewers noticed star quarterback Carson Wentz looked like he recently got a new tattoo.
The apparent new inking was eye-catching and appeared to cover his entire his arm. However, upon a further review, it was determined that wasn’t the case at all.
What was that Carson Wentz tattoo look?
What looked like a tattoo showed up on Carson Wentz’s throwing arm during Sunday’s home game. Many viewers watching the game reacted on Twitter, as it looked like Wentz had decided to switch up his look.
I can’t be the only one who thinks Carson Wentz got a full tattoo sleeve every time they show him right

At first glance, it certainly did look like the star quarterback got some work done during the Eagles’ bye week. That’s not the case, though. Instead, Wentz was wearing a protective arm sleeve with a camouflage design on that right arm.
For viewers watching on TV, the arm sleeve gave the appearance of being a tattoo. It’s possible he chose the camouflage design as part of the recent tribute the NFL is paying to the men and women of the armed services.
Even so, it had plenty of viewers out there thrown off when looking at the QB’s throwing arm.
Carson has a real arm tattoo
Over a year ago, Wentz and his wife Maddie showed off their matching tattoos. The ink is the word “Agape” which Carson explained in his Instagram post refers to selfless, sacrificial, and unconditional love.
Here’s a look at the real-life tattoo that Carson Wentz has on his right arm and Maddie on her left.

“AGAPE” — Greek word for the highest form of love. It’s sacrificial, selfless, and unconditional… the way God loves us. Grateful to have an amazing woman by my side to passionately pursue the Kingdom with! Can’t wait to spend forever with you! S/O to @danczartattoo on the amazing art and @ashleym_brown for the amazing pics! Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
The couple showed off the matching tattoos as a part of a series of honeymoon photos over a year ago. So far, there are no reported plans that they’ll get matching camouflage arm sleeves, but anything’s possible.
Wentz, Eagles fall to Patriots
Despite having that interesting arm sleeve on, the Eagles quarterback had a tough outing in Sunday’s game. His overall stats look decent as he completed 20-of-40 passes for 214 yards and a touchdown.
However, Wentz would end up getting sacked five times by the Patriots in the game for a loss of 40 yards. The Eagles also lost their All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson to injury and lost the game 17-10 to Tom Brady and New England.

The loss dropped the Eagles to 5-5 for the season. Right now, the Eagles are considered in the playoff hunt. They’re tied with the Carolina Panthers, and right behind the No. 7 team, the Los Angeles Rams (6-4), for a postseason spot.
Philadelphia will try to get back on the winning side of things on Sunday, November 24 as they take on the Seattle Seahawks. Will Wentz continue to go with the camo arm sleeve, or rock a different style to try to get his game going?
