Tuesday night brings the NBA Draft Lottery 2019 into the spotlight as a number of teams are hoping for a lucky draw. Getting the top pick will mean the opportunity to draft a player that some people believe is the next great superstar.
That’s none other than Duke Blue Devils star Zion Williamson. The NY Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, and plenty of other team’s fanbases are all wanting to draft this guy.
So what team will draft Zion Williamson in the NBA?
NBA Draft Lottery 2019 odds favor several teams
As mentioned by our Draft Lottery odds report, three teams hold the best chance of landing that top overall pick. The New York Knicks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Phoenix Suns hold 14 percent chance of getting No. 1 pick.
The Chicago Bulls own a 12.5 percent chance, while the Atlanta Hawks have a 10.5 percent shot at landing the top pick in the NBA Draft.
A lot of chatter has been going on about Zion playing for the New York Knicks. It would certainly be a boost for a club that has had very little success over the past decade or so.
In fact, it would the New York Knicks’ first No. 1 pick since a superstar named Patrick Ewing. Ironically, Ewing will be at the NBA Draft Lottery representing the Knicks.

That said, luck has really been on Cleveland’s side over the years. They’ve been able to draft the likes of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Andrew Wiggins over the years at No. 1 overall.
There’s also been draft bust Anthony Bennett, but for the most part, they’ve landed the top pick a lot. Will they do it again, or will Phoenix possibly surprise with back-to-back No. 1 picks?
There’s always the chance another team gets a surprising ping pong ball draw such as the Hawks, Bulls, or Wizards.
Draft Combine, trades could change things
Just days after Tuesday night’s Draft Lottery is held, comes the NBA Draft Combine. Zion Williamson is going to be there, and he’s already checked in based on his video below.
The Combine won’t necessarily have him competing in physical drills or 5-on-5 situations but will give scouts other potential information.
Things like Zion’s vertical leap, weight, and body fat percentage could tell scouts whether he’s worth taking at No. 1 overall. Something could come out during the Draft Combine that sways teams from wanting him for their club.
It’s unlikely that most will pass on him, though.

It’s hard to rule out major trades taking place with this year’s Draft.
The Los Angeles Lakers have popped up a lot in NBA Draft rumors. The team is one that has plenty of young talent on the roster, as well as an aging LeBron James.
While nothing has really come about involving a LeBron trade for the top pick, anything’s possible.
In addition, there are a lot of good free agents that could be on the market this summer. Some of them include Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Kemba Walker, Klay Thompson, Jimmy Butler, and Kyrie Irving.
Teams have that in mind too and may be looking to make deals to land the veteran they need to boost their roster.
Even so, Zion Williamson seems well worth the top pick overall. He’s been mentioned a lot as the next big star in the vein of LeBron James. The team that lands him will certainly have a major talent to help their success.
The NBA Draft Lottery arrives on Tuesday night, while the 2019 NBA Draft arrives on Thursday, June 20.
