The NBA Draft 2019 is over a month away but the teams for the lottery are now official. As of Tuesday, May 14, the draft order was officially revealed on ESPN.
The New Orleans Pelicans won the Zion Williamson sweepstakes in a surprising move when they landed the top overall pick. That leaves other teams looking over the remaining prospects and one interesting name pops out: Bol Bol.
Oregon’s Bol Bol could make his impact felt
At 7-foot-2, Bol Bol is one of the tallest players available in the upcoming draft, and also one who brings a lot of talent. He spent just one season playing college basketball but was able to put up an impressive 21 points a game and grab 9.6 rebounds per game.
In addition, he swatted 2.7 shots each contest. In the video below, check out highlights as Bol had a monster performance against the Syracuse Orange this past season.
While many people believe the days of the traditional center are over in the NBA, that’s far from the case. Several teams have added impressive big men to their rosters who are making their impact felt in the league today.
Look no further than the Philadelphia 76ers with Joel Embiid, or the Phoenix Suns who added DeAndre Ayton with last draft’s No. 1 pick. Having a solid rebounder and rim protector in the frontcourt is certainly a powerful asset for any roster.
Which team will take Bol Bol in the NBA Draft 2019?
After Tuesday’s Draft Lottery results, Bol Bol’s potential draft spot is bringing interest ahead of the big event in June.
Over at Basketball Insiders, the highest that Bol Bol is projected to go is No. 10 overall. That would put him on an Atlanta Hawks team brimming with young talent.
He’d be in the frontcourt with rising star John Collins and catching lobs from Trae Young.
Two other teams just below the Hawks pop up at that same Basketball Insiders mock draft. The Minnesota Timberwolves could add him at No. 11 or the Charlotte Hornets could take Bol Bol with their No. 12 pick.
Of those teams mentioned, the Wolves already have Karl-Anthony Towns in the middle, so that would be interesting to see. The Hornets could certainly use a talented guy up front, though.

Of course, there is also the possibility Bol Bol could improve his stock at the Draft Combine this week. A team within the top 10 could easily decide to take the gamble on a guy of his size and talents.
So a lot of attention will be on how he performs there or what he shows team scouts concerning his future potential in the league.
