The Young and the Restless fans mourned Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan) a few months ago. She was finally getting her life back together with Devon (Bryton James) when tragedy struck. So what happened to Hilary?
With everything going for her, including being pregnant with Devon’s baby, Hilary was on top of the world. Of course, the bad blood between her and Lily (Christel Khalil) was still going strong. While they were out for a drive together, the pair began arguing with Lily doing most of the talking/yelling.
While distracted behind the wheel, Lily ran a red light. That moment would forever change the residents of Genoa City. When the car went into the intersection, Hilary caught the brunt of the impact from another vehicle t-boning the car they were riding in.
Things looked bleak for Hilary but she was still alive as she was transported to the hospital. As the realization came that she would not pull through with her injuries, some of the most emotional scenes The Young and the Restless viewers had seen in a while came to pass.
Hilary died in Devon’s arms while in the hospital. Unfortunately, the life they once dreamed of was wrecked by a moment of distracted driving. Devon was consumed with anger and vowed to make Lily pay.
As it sits today, Hilary is a character who will likely be gone from Genoa City forever. A ghost visit would be possible but at this point, it looks unlikely. Lily is in jail for her part in Hilary’s death as Christel Khalil went on recurring status.
