It’s that time of year again soap fans, time to look back at what was and what could have been in 2018 for The Young and the Restless.

What did you think of all the soapy action and jaw-dropping drama that took place over the last year?  Let’s take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of the more intriguing developments in Genoa City in 2018.

The, “Who killed J.T.,” story line is the gift that keeps on giving. Will it ever end? Maybe now that showrunner Mal Young is gone the madness will stop.

In the major ick factor category Billy (Jason Thompson) got revenge on Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) for sleeping with Nick (Joshua Morrow) by sleeping with her daughter Summer (Hunter King). Got that?

Wait there’s more! Once Sharon found out about Phick’s mattress wrangling she got even, not mad, by calling the scoundrel out in front of stunned friends and family as they were about to say, “I Do.” You go girl!

What to say about the Rosales family? Maybe that they will soon be history. Chief of Police replacement Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), chaste Lola (Sasha Calle) and tool belt boy toy Arturo (Jason Canela) blew into town like hayseeds on the wind. Which begs the question, when will Doug Davidson return as Paul Williams?

The year was a definite downer for the Winters’ clan: Hilary (Mishael Morgan) died, Lily (Christel Khalil) went to prison, and Devon (Bryton James) became an addict.

Victor (Eric Braeden) was triumphant in stealing something precious from Nick (Joshua Morrow), he disappeared for a loooong time, and now he’s back to save Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) from herself. Typical year for the Newman family.

The Abbott family didn’t fare much better, same thing different year. Ashley (Eileen Davidson) got mad at Jack (Peter Bergman) because mom likes him more than her and left town in a huff. Does mom Dina (Marla Adams) have a 2019 bombshell in her like Jack’s 2018 paternity shocker? Tune in and find out!

The Young and the Restless airs weekdays during the day on CBS and on PopTV in the evening.
