General Hospital spoilers for the Monday, November 12, 2018 episode of ABC’s sudser tease an epic day of reckoning is on tap for one woeful mobster. GH has quite a treat in store for fans as a special episode centers on Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) ruminations and contemplations about love, life, misery, and the mob. And not necessarily in that order.

This episode has all of the earmarks of a classic. It will focus on Sonny, aka The Dimpled Don, as he looks back on a troubled life.

We know that he grew up in an abusive household where his stepfather beat him. His biological dad Mike (Max Gail) left the family, but in an ironic twist of fate, figures in his life at the present moment.

Fans will be glad to see Dominic Zamprogna in the episode. Unfortunately, Sonny met his adult son when he shot him point blank in the chest. Dante is a cop and he tried to bust Sonny for his nefarious crimes. Oops!

But he’s done other despicable things such as sleep with his other son’s girlfriend, and as a mobster-in-training, he made his first kill. In the present day, this kill’s daughter is now the D.A. and out for Sonny’s head. He has also loved many women, most especially Carly (Laura Wright).

Sonny is not all bad, however. He took in Stone Cold (Steve Burton) and Stone (Michael Sutton), both young men in need of help and guidance. And he loves his family, there is no doubt about that.

Perhaps the highlight of this special episode, especially for the Benard family, is the special guest appearance of Joshua Benard. Maurice’s son is playing the pint-sized Sonny. Joshua is 13 years old and slays as Sonny’s young, bad self.

Maurice Bernard is a soap icon. This special episode is richly deserved and sure to be treasured by loyal soap fans. He has been nominated six times for a Daytime Emmy in the Outstanding Lead Actor category and won in 2003.

General Hospital airs on weekdays on ABC.
