It’s that time of year again soap fans, time to look back at what was and what could have been in 2018 for Days of our Lives.

Did the sudser tickle or torment you? Let’s go way back to the beginning of the year and reminisce about the scandalous and heartwarming Salem 2018 moments.

Patch (Stephen Nichols) left town and that was a major bummer for loyal fans. What will Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) do without her main man? Not much it appears, so let’s hope that the good doc gets some hot action going in 2019.

She was part of a jaw-dropping story line, but for all the wrong reasons. She delivered faulty paternity test results to Lucas (Bryan Datillo) in the Baby Bon Bon story and in the end he left Salem, too.

But a few sparkling returns made viewers smile, as Theresa (Jen Lilley) came back, with Zander (Paul Telfer) and his 12-pack no less! Neither stayed long but Sheila (T-Boz) and Sarah (Lindsay Godfrey) also returned and look set to stay a while.

Cin scorched up the screen as Ben Weston aka The Necktie Killer (Robert Scott Wilson) hooked up with troubled Ciara (Victoria Konefal).

Jarlena eventually got married after Sami (Alison Sweeney) popped up and was thought to have been the one to shoot her mom at the alter (it was Zander).

CarSon were reunited for a hot minute and Gabigail got hot and heavy with the DID story line and paternity test results switch. But now everyone knows that Chad (Billy Flynn) is the real baby daddy.

There were a lot of comings and goings this year, with Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) back and Vivian (Louise Sorrel) allegedly dead. But so is Jack (allegedly dead) and he’s back too, albeit technically on the cusp of 2018/ 2019!

Days of our Lives airs weekdays during the day on NBC.
