Why is Kenya Moore not returning to RHOA?

Kenya Moore will not be featured on Season 11 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. For months after the last season ended Kenya played coy about her RHOA contract, but did say that she was not fired from the show.

Rumors abound as to why Kenya won’t be returning. Some reports claimed she was offered a role as a friend of the cast, but according to Kenya herself she wasn’t offered a demotion — just a really low paycheck.

Kenya claimed that they wanted to pay her like a friend of the cast in order for her to tell her pregnancy story and to show off her husband. She claimed she wasn’t doing that without more money but appeared to suggest that production wasn’t willing to negotiate with her.

Part of the issue with Kenya Moore’s final season on The Real Housewives of Atlanta had to do with her marriage to Marc Daly. Specifically, the fact that it was done secretly and privately without RHOA cameras rolling.

According to multiple reports, that was a point of contention between Kenya and producers, who wanted to showcase her relationship. Kenya’s hesitation could have been due to Marc Daly’s reported refusal to film with the RHOA crew, so who knows if that would have changed had she returned.

It’s too bad that Kenya Moore couldn’t return in order to document her pregnancy and the birth of her first child for the show. That’s something she lamented after admitting that she won’t be returning for Season 11 of RHOA.

Kenya is finally married, in love and about to give birth to her first child any day now and none of it will be shown on the upcoming season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

Will the upcoming season of RHOA be the same without Kenya?

The Real Housewives of Atlanta returns for Season 11 on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
