Who is Lindsey Kraft, the actress who plays Leonard’s maybe-baby mama Marissa on The Big Bang Theory?

Last night’s episode of The Big Bang Theory revisited a familiar face, introduced a new character, and brought upon a potentially life-changing decision all at once.

While out with Amy and Bernadette, Penny runs into her ex-boyfriend, Zack (Brian Thomas Smith), where he informs her that not only is he married, but he’s sold his menu design business and living on a boat with his bride, Marissa. And he’s not done springing surprises on the gang: He and his beloved are infertile and want Leonard’s DNA so they can have a little scientist of their own.

So who’s playing the woman who wants to give birth to Leonard’s baby?

That would be Lindsey Kraft, a veteran actress who’s appeared in shows such as Grace & Frankie, Dirty John, Living Bibically, and Getting On. She’s also made appearances in dozens of other shows, including Grey’s Anatomy, Modern Family, The Conners, and Veep.

Kraft is a well-known face at CBS: She also stars in the hit show Living Biblically.

The 35-year-old actress was born in Long Island and started out as a career and a model, and then got bitten by the acting bug as a student at the University of Maryland and has been acting ever since.

While the actress remains fairly quiet about her family and love life, she has been linked to actor Andrew Leeds, who’s appeared in shows such as Silicon Valley and Bones.

Kraft has been signed on in a recurring role for The Big Bang Theory’s final season, so expect to see more of her in the months ahead. Does this mean that there’s going to be a little Hofstadter running around in the near future?

The final season of The Big Bang Theory airs on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. on CBS.
