This week Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO booked journalist Richard Engel, comedienne Margaret Cho, journalist Joshua Green, political analyst Ana Navarro, and rapper Killer Mike.
The show was a study in restraint on both sides of the political divide as GOP strategist and Jeb! supporter Ana Navarro nearly had a teeny tiny cage match over the term “war criminal” with midshow interview Margaret Cho and host Bill Maher.
Navarro was incensed that Cho referred to George W. Bush, Jeb!’s brother, as a war criminal.
Navarro cut her off and condescended a bit saying “look I know you are a comedian…” to take any gravitas or authority away from Cho, who was incredibly restrained and deliberate in her remarks last night.
Maher circled back fast and took Navarro to task for the dig at marginalizing comedians’ opinions.
At the end of the broadcast Navarro was the only one who didn’t partake in the passed lit joint when Maher wrapped his New Rules but she did show off her funny bone during Overtime saying she was “entitled to the Cheetos” when Engel came out wondering what fun he missed during the show.
