On Shark Tank, viewers will be introduced to a clothing line that has a much bigger purpose. The brand is called Uniform and it’s a socially conscious clothing company.

Darold D. Brown Ferguson Jr., better known as A$AP Ferg, started his business after his father passed away, according to All Shark Tank Products.

In 2017, he teamed up with the company, Liberty & Justice, after a rap career, and he liked how the company produced their clothing in several African countries. It was back in 2015 that the company launched the Uniform label.

Whenever someone buys a product, the business gives a school uniform to a child in Liberia.

School uniforms are required in African schools and it’s simply a disadvantage if parents can’t afford a uniform for their child. Having a school uniform helps both with attendance and overall test scores.

According to the company’s website, the Uniform collection consists of 10 pieces. It’s a specific collection, where you can find a logo tee, hoodie, military shirt, camp jacket, and a bucket hat.

It’s designed for both men and women, meaning anyone can wear it. For every item sold, a child gets a uniform.

People who want to support the Uniform clothing line and wants to help provide uniforms to children in need can purchase clothing items through the company’s website. The men’s clothing items are separated from the women‘s clothing options.

It will be interesting to see what the sharks say to a socially conscious company. While it is great to see a company invest in the future of children in Africa, some of the sharks could be more worried about the reduced profit margins.

Shark Tank airs Sunday at 9/8c on ABC.
