Tonight’s Real Time with Bill Maher is a no-miss event as Jeffrey Lord, the controversial pro-Donald Trump CNN political commentator is booked on the show’s panel.
Lord is a paid CNN commentator who joined the 24/7 news network in the summer of 2015. Since then his remarks and commentary about Trump have sparked all kinds of outrage and head-scratching from fellow pundits.
As Trump’s rise in the ranks of the Republican primaries was established, so too were Lord’s appearances — usually with Van Jones as the vociferous rebuttal voice to Trump’s claims and Lord’s interpretation of them.
Lord served as a White House political director during the Reagan White House.
Maher will also interview professor and author Rosa Brooks as the top-of-show interview guest. Environmentalist Bill McKibben is the mid-show interview guest.
Joining Lord on the panel are political commentators and reporters Joy Reid and Charlie Sykes.
Reid is a frequent guest on Real Time and recently tossed Newsmax reporter J.D. Hayworth off her news MSNBC broadcast for nonsequiturs and racial insensitivity.
Earlier this week panelist and MSNBC contributor Sykes gave Mediaite a comment about Trump’s address to Congress, saying: “Nothing actually changed. There is no policy. He is the same Donald Trump he was 24 hours previous.
“There’s almost a battered pundit syndrome going on out there…where, you know, he [Trump] comes home and he’s not abusive and he’s not drunk and so we’re just so incredibly grateful.”
Real Time with Bill Maher airs Friday, March 3 at 10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT
