Teen Mom OG is over for the season but the reunion is on the way. Amber Portwood has had a rough time between the way she is handling the online criticism and her postpartum depression. On the season finale of Teen Mom OG, Amber admitted to planning to commit suicide at one point.
All of this came to light in November. Amber Portwood took to Twitter to voice her displeasure with the way Teen Mom OG portrayed her. Now, it looks like she may take a break from the show at the very least.
Amber loses it on Dr. Drew
In a preview from Monday night’s Teen Mom OG reunion, Amber Portwood can be seen talking to Dr. Drew and Nessa. She mentions that she needs time off from filming and gets hysterical while comparing herself to Catelynn Lowell.
Viewers will remember Catelynn Lowell was given several weeks off of filming to go to treatment. Not only did this happen once, but it actually happened three times and almost back to back.
Amber Portwood told Dr. Drew that she was only given the option of a week without filming Teen Mom OG, which sent her over the edge.
What is next for Amber?
At this point, Amber Portwood’s future with Teen Mom OG is up in the air. She has threatened to quit several times before so viewers aren’t terribly worried. During the conversation with Dr. Drew, she did mention that she believes no one would miss her.
The show wouldn’t be the same without Amber Portwood and even though she was missing while serving her time in prison, fans welcomed her back without skipping a beat.
