Swamp People Season 9 is set to air later this year — and here’s everything you need to know, including the premiere date and the trailer.

The hit History show, which follows alligator hunters in Louisiana, has been on air since 2010 and last graced our screens back in May 2017.

Last season saw Daniel Edgar finally bag the legendary gator Grande Noir in the premiere. Later in the year Troy and nephew Holden took on fearsome Nile Crocodiles in a Swamp People Everglades special.

This season will catch up with the hunters in their various locations, and comes after a year where hurricanes caused havoc on the region. Troy has previously told how adverse weather like that can cause havoc for gators.

Swamp People: When will show return to History?

History has already confirmed that Swamp People will be returning for its ninth season. The premiere is set to air on Thursday, February 1, at 9/8c.

What else do we know?

No details about what happens in Swamp People Season 9 have yet been released, but we’ll keep this article updated once we know.

Swamp People Season 9: Watch the trailer

The trailer for Swamp People takes on a “The Godfather” theme, referencing the famous 1972 movie by introducing various members of the cast with mafia-sounding names.

We start off by seeing a boat slipping through a spooky looking swamp, before cast member R.J. Molinere is introduced as “The Muscle”, followed by Daniel Edgar as “The Creole”, Will Bruce as “The Alligator Man” and Troy Landry as “The Swampfather”.

At the end a tagline reads: “Meet The Cajun Cartel”.

Swamp People Season 9 premieres Thursday, February 1 at 9/8c on History. Make sure to join our Swamp People fanpage on Facebook to discuss the new season!
