Street Outlaws vs Fast N’ Loud Mega Race 2: Discovery showdown returns

Ryan Martin talks to Richard Rawlings on Street Outlaws vs Fast N' Loud Mega Race 2
Ryan Martin and Richard Rawlings hash out the details of Street Outlaws vs Fast N’ Loud Mega Race 2

It’s time for Street Outlaws vs Fast N’ Loud Mega Race 2! The build-up to the second instalment of Discovery’s hit race-off starts tonight on Discovery — with the main event going down in a week’s time on March 5.

Last year’s first clash between the stars of the two shows saw Street Outlaws emerge victorious in both races, with Big Chief beating Richard Rawlings’ driver Alex Laughlin in a best-of-three drag race and Aaron Kaufman beating the 405’s Farmtruck and AZN in a skills challenge.

This year Rawlings’ Gas Monkey Garage returns with Laughlin behind the wheel of the same Dodge Demon, but they’ll be up against a new competitor this time around — Ryan Martin in his Fireball Camaro rather than Big Chief and Shawn Ellington.

Ryan is currently No1 on the Street Outlaws: OKC list, but after last year’s double loss Gas Monkey Garage will be keen to pull something big out of the bag.

After Kaufman’s departure from Fast N’ Loud last year the skills race will be an all-new event this time around — with Tom Smith and Thomas Weeks from Misfit Garage now going up against Farmtruck and AZN.

NASCAR driver Kyle Busch will serve as race master, with the biggest ever cash prize in Discovery’s history up for grabs.

Mega Race 2 comes as part of Discovery’s Motor Mega Week, with the build up starting tonight with a Start Your Engines episode at 8/7c followed by Street Outlaws vs. Fast N’ Loud: Build to Mega Race Part 1 airing at 9/8c.

Build-up episodes will then air each night through Thursday this week at the same time, with the big race coming at 9/8c on Monday next week, March 5. In good news for Kaufman fans, the so-called ‘Bearded Wonder’ will premiere his new show, Shifting Gears with Aaron Kaufman, immediately afterwards at 10/9c that same night.

Motor Mega Weeks also includes tonight’s season finale of Street Outlaws: Memphis, the premieres of all-new series Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings and Twin Turbos, and a sneak peek at the returning American Chopper.

You can see the full Motor Mega Week schedule here.

The build-up to Street Outlaws vs Fast N’ Loud Mega Race starts at 8/7c tonight on Discovery.
