Back from his Hawaiian hiatus, HBO star and Real Time host Bill Maher may just flame the #metoo movement overreactors tonight.
Especially on the heels of his photo jibe with a snoozing Bob Saget, mimicking the Al Franken snap that lead to the Senator’s resignation.
The show is white hot with Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House author Michael Wolff booked as the top-of-show interview guest. Michael Wolff’s book was snapped up by Endeavor Content, purchasing the film and television rights in a reported “seven-figure range”. The book will be spooled into a TV series to be shopped to all the networks.
Champion of food service workers, Saru Jayaraman is the mid-show interview guest. Jayaraman is the co-founder and co-director of the Restaurant Opportunities Centers United (ROC United) and Director of the Food Labor Research Center at UC Berkeley who is considered a rising star and frontline leader in parity for minimum wage restaurant workers.
The roundtable guests are journalist Andrew Sullivan and comedian Larry Wilmore.
Sullivan may ratchet up the volume of chatter as he has come out against the “excesses” of the #metoo movement.
Wilmore is a prolific producer and has produced and written great TV, from cult gem In Living Color, network smashes The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and The Bernie Mac Show, and now Black-ish and Grown-ish for ABC/Freeform. Wilmore also created the critically acclaimed comedy Insecure with Issa Rae for HBO.
Real Time with Bill Maher airs Friday at 10pm live ET/tape-delayed PT), with a replay at 12:30 am on HBO.
