My 600-lb Life airs Wednesday nights at 9/8c on TLC. On the next TLC’s My 600-lb Life, June and Randy tell their stories.
June clocks in at over 600 pounds and cannot control what she eats at all.
Her son’s death has sent June into a downward spiral of feeding and depression.
Following gastric bypass surgery, she has to work hard to reduce her weight and get through her terrible grief as best she can.
It’s hard work, will June rise to the occasion?
If she can stay on track then June can once again be a proper mother to her remaining children.
Randy Statum of Hull, Texas has a story that takes us on a journey from fat to fitter.
Randy is a 35-year-old divorced dad. At 640-lbs, he struggles to keep up at his family’s appliance business – just being on his feet is sheer torture. He mostly hides in his parents’ home, eating fast food to ameliorate severe depression over two failed relationships.
He also has limited custody of a daughter and his enabler family makes excuses for Randy, saying he was always “big-boned.”
His non-stop appetite went unchecked for years, and now Randy’s enormous weight prevents him from having a life.
To get back on track Randy has to undergo a strict pre-surgery diet, as he learns to create new neural pathways of behavior to avoid his fast food nemesis.
Will he be approved for a weight-loss operation?
