This week’s episode of Vikings is a reckoning of sorts, mostly between the former and latter queen of Kattegat, Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) and Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland).
The pair come to a very nasty revisiting over past hurts and clash over who is in the wrong.
Fans will savor this overdue showdown at the feast reuniting King Harald and Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig), before Bjorn and his half-brother Hvitserk (Marco Ilsø) sail off in Floki’s (Gustaf Skarsgård) sleek new boat with sturdy recruits.
Sadly for Ragnar (Travis Fimmel), he is out of favor in Kattegat, being spat upon in the season opener and literally bribing recruits with his buried plunder from raids of yore for his “go back to England” plan. Watch our exclusive clip below.

Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) however, is solidly in Ragnar’s court and much to Aslaug’s chagrin and despite her frightening and portentous dream, he sets sail with his dad, says goodbye to his mother and starts to rebuild his manhood and sense of identity.
A scene to watch is an awkward-turned-violent family dinner with all the Aslaug boys including Ubbe (Jordan Patrick Smith), Marco Ilsø and Sigurd (David Lindström) where Sigurd riles up Ivar to the point of no return.
This week’s episode really sees Ragnar at his lowest in town, where locals have nothing but disdain and a belief that the gods have deserted him.
The new one to watch is town favorite Bjorn, joined by Ragnar and Aslaug’s second son Hvitserk as they head to explore the Mediterranean in the new boat.
Ragnar’s substandard old boats and a bribed long-in-the-tooth crew sees Aslaug’s vision unfold and we see Ivar facing death.
This must-see episode ends in cliffhanger with a capsizing. Who survived is revealed in next week’s episode, Two Journeys, airing on Wednesday, December 14.
Vikings airs Wednesdays, at 9/8c on History.
