Hunters become the hunted in Mountain Monsters Season 5 premiere

AIMS are back for the new season of Mountain Monsters and a whole new set of adventures

Mountain Monsters returns tonight on Destination America — and the Season 5 premiere sees the Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings (AIMS) group turning from hunters to the hunted.

While AIMS are usually out chasing Bigfoot, Sheepsquatch, Hellhounds, and all manner of other beasts, they have been repeatedly tripped up and sabotaged on their missions by a murky Rogue Team.

This season Trapper and his AIMS counterparts are in mixed minds about how to deal with the nuisance group.

But Buck — the youngest member of the group — is adamant that they need to find the Rogue Team and meet them face to face.

After having a trap dismantled, they need to find out a) who did the dirty work and b) who hired them to do it.

The AIMS members just want to get back to doing what they do best and tracking monsters in the wild.

So when Buck convinces them that meeting the rival group will allow them to put this whole sorry episode behind them, some of the others quickly sign up.

But it causes a rift between the group and things don’t go to plan when they finally meet the Rogue Team, when several members of AIMS end up getting abducted…
