Grey’s Anatomy spoilers indicate that Thatcher Grey (Jeff Perry) is returning to the show. This is big news, as the character is the father of Meredith Grey, who has not always had the best relationship with his daughter.
A preview of the upcoming episode was revealed showing Webber speaking with Meredith. He mentions that her father is sick and it fades to black. It’s some foreshadowing about the upcoming episode, which should be an emotional one for the main character, as well as the viewers.

Jeff Perry as Thatcher Grey
The actor who plays Thatcher Grey has been around in films and on television for a number of years. He hasn’t appeared on Grey’s Anatomy since 2011, though, missing the death of his other daughter on the show. That could lead to some negative feelings from Meredith, even as she deals with her father being sick.

In addition to his time as Thatcher Grey, Jeff Perry spent a lot of time as Cyrus Beene on ABC’s Scandal. This was a primary reason why the character of Thatcher hasn’t been seen for a number of years.
His last appearance on the show happened right before the series premiere of Scandal aired on ABC. Before his time with Shonda Rhimes, Perry was Inspector Harvey Leek on Nash Bridges for a number of years.
