Actress Jennifer Grey will join the Grey’s Anatomy cast for midseason episodes. ABC made the announcement that Grey is joining the show in a relatively mysterious role.
When viewers last saw the characters at the hospital, many of them were stuck in elevators. This was the result of a power outage during a windstorm. Several patients were also stuck, with the potential that they could die if not rescued quickly.
It was a big cliffhanger for fans, but at least the network just revealed when Grey’s Anatomy returns in January. Now, it is accompanied by the news that there is going to be a new character on the show.

Who is Jennifer Grey on Grey’s Anatomy?
Setting aside all of the puns about Jennifer Grey joining a show called Grey’s Anatomy, the veteran actress could be a good addition to the cast. She, of course, is best-known for her role on Dirty Dancing, but Grey also returned to the spotlight when she won a season of Dancing With the Stars.
There have been no details revealed about what role she is going to play on the show, but there are certainly a few Grey’s Anatomy rumors floating around. One suggests that she could be the mother of Dr. Jo Wilson (played by Camilla Luddington). Her parents have been shrouded in mystery and this would make sense.

When the show gets closer to returning, there might be more information revealed about Grey joining the show. For now, viewers can still go back and watch some of the previous episodes from Season 15. It might be a good idea to re-watch the fall finale, as well, because it will play a big part in the next episode.
