No lie, January 2017 is going to be jam-packed with thrilling period dramas!
Netflix will debut Frontier starring Jason Momoa on January 20, with the series already picked up for a second season.
The drama is produced by Discovery, and is already airing on the channel in Canada.
It sees Momoa square in the middle of warring factions in the bloody 1700s fur trade — where the skins taken off animals’ backs put clothing on men and money in their pockets.
The visceral series is set in Canada with ruthless factions vying for control of the trade, which brought about all kinds of crimes against animals and humanity. Hatchets more often than not settle any territorial disputes.
Momoa — the kohl-eyed leader Khal Drogo in Game of Thrones — plays Frontier’s main character Declan Harp, a fur trader poised in a struggle of wealth and power.
Also in the cast are Landon Liboiron, Alun Armstrong, Zoe Boyle, Allan Hawco, Jessica Matten, and Shawn Doyle.
