Colbert knocks Trump for his efforts to undo protections helping transgender students

Stephen Colbert, on the Thursday edition of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, resurrected rumors of the “golden shower” President Donald Trump allegedly ordered from Russian prostitutes, while knocking him for barring transgender students from using the restroom of their choice.

Earlier this week, Trump launched an effort to roll back former President Barack Obama’s rule requiring schools to let transgender students use bathrooms suiting their chosen gender rather than the one with which they were born.

Colbert remarked, “We should’ve seen this coming, because if there’s one thing Trump’s famous for, it’s telling people where to pee,” alluding to the lurid rumors that Russian spies taped Trump soliciting hookers to pee in front of him at a Moscow hotel room.

On the other hand, the development surprised Colbert, who ran a clip of Trump telling Today Show host Matt Lauer in April 2016 that transgender celebrity Caitlyn Jenner could use the bathroom of her choice.

“Which is good, because I’m guessing right now a lot of trans people would like to take a dump in Trump’s lobby,” Colbert quipped.

The Late Show host also took the opportunity to bash Attorney General and former Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, whose nomination process resurrected concerns that he has a track record of discriminating against black people.

According to news reports, Sessions pushed Education Secretary Betsy DeVos to rescind the protections, despite her concerns that doing so could harm transgender students.

” ‘Oh c’mon Betsy, they won’t let me discriminate against black people, just give me this one!’ ” Colbert shouted in a Southern drawl, mocking Sessions. ” ‘I need somethin’!’ ”

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on CBS.
