For fans of The Mandalorian, Baby Yoda is undeniably the best part of the show. The little green dude pulls at heartstrings and makes one laugh all the while making viewers want nothing more than his safety.
For parents of toddlers (or fur babies who act like toddlers), Baby Yoda will make them want to adopt a space baby every time they watch an episode. Throughout The Mandalorian Episode 4, Baby Yoda steals the show and makes fans of the show fall in love with him every time he’s on-screen.

Baby Yoda needs a fidget spinner
Anyone who has ever been around children knows that there is no perfect way to baby proof the world. For the Mandalorian, his ship, the Razor Crest, is Baby Yoda’s playground. Even while he is trying to save the child’s life, and make their escape aboard the ship, Baby Yoda is too busy pushing buttons to really listen to Mando while he tries desperately to figure out where to go next. As the Mandalorian is trying to fly the ship, he has to keep an eye on a curious Baby Yoda.
Eventually, Mando firmly tells Baby Yoda “Stop touching things!” But the Mandalorian might as well have not even spoken. Like children everywhere, not only does Baby Yoda ignore him, he looks at Mando mischievously, and does it again. Teachers, parents, babysitters, and daycare workers have all had this moment, and still, somehow, despite the aggravation, they defeat us all with being obnoxiously cute tiny people. Baby Yoda is no exception at this moment.
Even loth-cats are divas too
It’s hard to tell how children will react to different animals and different places, and Baby Yoda makes this perfectly clear when he is scared by a loth-cat. Once Baby Yoda and the Mandalorian land on the planet Sorgan, and begin to walk through their new surroundings, Baby Yoda walks around with an open-faced curiosity that only children have.
But that curiosity quickly turns to a sense of fear when a local loth-cat hisses at the child, and he quickly moves closer to the Mandalorian to rediscover his sense of safety.
His fear of the cat is one of the cutest moments of the show. Not only because there is no safer place for Baby Yoda to be than with the Mandalorian, but also because he has already faced so many more dangerous things, and, like a child, he is most afraid of a cat (I feel you green dude). Kind of like a kid being afraid of monsters in their closet when they should be afraid to touch a stove, Baby Yoda being afraid of a cat shows how much of a child he actually is.
But this does prove that even space cats are lame. I bet the loth-cat knocks expensive space dishes off the counter too.
Nobody puts a Baby Yoda in the corner
The ironic part of Baby Yoda being afraid of the loth-cat is that if he had done what the Mandalorian told him to do, and stayed on board the ship, he wouldn’t have had to face the loth-cat.
But again, just like a toddler, he refuses to listen and follows Mando everywhere. And considering that Mando spent at least part of his trip holding Baby Yoda in his lap, he is probably just ready for some alone time. But much like an exhausted dad who just wants some privacy, the Mandalorian just says, “Oh h*ll come on,” and gives up on the idea of privacy.
Parents everywhere have that one child who can’t even let them go to the bathroom in peace, and Baby Yoda makes it clear he wants to be wherever the Mandalorian is and could care less if Mando is ever alone again.
Just sipping some bone broth
Kids are notorious for being everywhere they are not supposed to be, and Baby Yoda is no exception. And good babysitters are hard to come by even for the Mandalorian. When Mando sees Cara Dune, he thinks she is a threat to Baby Yoda and decides to go ahead and assess the threat.
In an effort to keep Baby Yoda safe, the Mandalorian pays their waitress to keep an eye on him while Mando goes to check out the threat. She obviously doesn’t do a good job because while Mando is in a rather intense fight, viewers see Baby Yoda just chilling out, watching the fight and drinking bone broth, just as a Baby Yoda would do.
The moral of the story is that kids will always find a way to get where they want to go even if they’re not supposed to be there. And again, Baby Yoda drinking bone broth is the best part of the scene.
Baby Yoda has the munchies
Kids pick up some nasty habits, and no one makes this clearer than Baby Yoda and his weird desire to eat frogs while they’re still alive. Nothing is sweeter than watching a child play with other children, especially if they have had to spend a lot of time alone. And no one has been alone more than Baby Yoda. As he plays with other children on the planet Sorgan, viewers realize how much he has longed for a playmate.
When he goes to catch frogs with everyone else, though, he realizes not all kids like to catch frogs and stick the whole thing into their mouths. When Baby Yoda catches a frog and goes to eat it, he gets an embarrassed look in his eye when he sees that the other children are grossed out. When their cries of disgust fill the air, he quickly spits the frog out to let it hop back into the lake.
You know what they say about peer pressure.
Baby Yoda makes The Mandalorian worth watching and he is sure to have more adorable shenanigans as the season continues.
