The Real Time with Bill Maher guest line-up tonight includes a top Democratic representative and some high-profile reporters and editors.
The show opens with outspoken Trump opponent Calif. Rep. Adam Schiff booked as the top-of-show interview guest.
Schiff is a ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee and was recently pranked by Russian comedians who claimed they had photographic evidence of POTUS in flagrante delicto while in Russia.
Editor Bari Weiss is the mid-show interview guest. In her recent New York Times Op/Ed piece that flew in the face of the #MeToo movement, Weiss defended Aziz Ansari and said he was guilty of “not being a mind reader”.
Weiss wrote: “That is what I learned from the expose of Aziz Ansari last weekend by the feminist website Babe — arguably the worst thing that has happened to the #MeToo movement since it began in October. It transforms what ought to be a movement for women’s empowerment into an emblem for female helplessness.”
The roundtable guests are journalist Johann Hari, reporter April Ryan, and law professor Richard Painter.
Hari is a controversial British author whose book Lost Connections is stirring up a debate over the whys and how to manage and combat depression.
Ryan is a White House regular in the press corps and is a frequent on-air pundit for CNN to discuss all things POTUS. She also locks horns frequently with Sarah Huckabee Sanders, President Trump’s press secretary.
The pair recently went at it over Trump calling Dems “treasonous” and “un-American.”
Real Time with Bill Maher airs Fridays at 10pm live ET/tape-delayed PT on HBO.
