This Friday’s Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO follows his powerful piece on the presidential race, published today in the Hollywood Reporter.
Maher will be doing his opening monologue, top of the show interview then moving over to his roundtable discussions with panelists and interview with the mid-show guest ended by the popular “New Rules.”
Foreign correspondent Richard Engel is the top-of-show interview guest. Comic, actor and feminist Margaret Cho is the mid-show interview guest.
The roundtable guests are journalist Josh Green, political analyst Ana Navarro and musician Michael Render (Killer Mike).
Last week Maher had as a mid-show guest, environmental activist Erin Brockovich (she subbed for a sick Michael Moore who was scheduled initially) to discuss the lead-contaminated water in Flint, Michigan.
Brockovich vehemently attacked greedy politicians saying that Flint was tip in a greater American water crisis.
“I’ve said before, I feel like Bill Paxton from that scene in ‘Twister’ where they say the tornado’s coming and he goes, ‘It’s already here,” Brockovich said.
“That’s exactly what’s happening with the water crisis.”
Maher also had feminist icon Gloria Steinem as his top of the show guest, and her remarks about girls chasing the boys with Bernie [Sanders] drew widespread rebukes among millennial feminists. She later apologized via her Facebook page.
The series airs again Friday, Feb. 12 (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT) and you can submit questions on the official site.
