Alaskan Bush People star Ami Brown is in remission from cancer, according to reports.

The reality mom’s health was revealed to be improving during a Christmas episode of the Discovery series which aired in December.

Now sources claim that she has finished her chemotherapy treatment and is officially in remission. There are two types of remission, partial and complete.

Partial remission means the size of a tumor or the amount of cancer in a person’s body has been decreased due to treatment. Complete remission means that there are no longer any signs of cancer — but does not mean it is cured, as some cancer cells remain.

An admin on the non-fan Facebook page Alaskan Bush People Exposed, who are said to have sources close to the show, took to the site to clarify reports about her health.

They said: “I’ve been seeing in a lot of other groups and articles that she is 100% cancer free. I would like to set the record straight. Ami is officially in remission and for now chemo is over.

“That doesn’t mean she lied about having cancer or faked having cancer. All it simply means is that she is in remission and will be monitored by her doctors very closely.

“Like most people dealing with cancer it is something that Ami will have to deal with for the rest of her life and to suggest anything else is irresponsible and utter nonsense.”

Ami underwent a gruelling treatment regime including both radiation and chemotherapy treatment last year.  The family moved to California from Alaska so that she could undergo treatment at UCLA Medical Center.

The Brown family later plan to move to Colorado to set up a new permanent home. It is not yet known whether Alaskan Bush People will be returning for Season 8.
