Dwayne Johnson has found himself to be the subject of some recent fake news but he’s not letting someone make up a story about him without a fight.
On Friday night, the actor known as The Rock took to Instagram to “set the record straight’ about an interview that he says never happened.
“I can’t believe I have to do this again,” Dwayne said as he spoke to the camera. ”
“Earlier today online, an interview dropped with me… apparently it was with me where I was insulting and criticizing millennials,” he began.
“The interview never took place. Never happened. Never said any of those words. Completely untrue. 100 percent fabricated,” The Rock said with a laugh. “I was quite baffled when I woke up this morning.”
The supposed interview was published by the Daily Star, a UK tabloid that ran the story on their front page, touting it as an exclusive. That interview is no longer featured on the front page and seems to have disappeared from the site altogether.
In the fake news story, Dwayne Johnson was credited with lashing out at millennials and “PC softies” and that he “spoke out after a flood of snowflake stories hit the headlines.”
In his Instagram refute of the fake interview, Dwayne Johnson made it clear that he would never seek to lash out or offend an entire group of people in that manner. As he put it, it’s not his style.
