Super-duo Banks & Steelz made their TV debut on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon with an incendiary performance of their new single Giant.
Two of New York’s finest collide in a matchup no one could expect: Interpol frontman Paul Banks and Wu Tang’s de facto leader the RZA (otherwise known as Bobby Steelz for this project) joined forces to form Banks & Steelz.
The duo, who released their impressive debut full length Anything But Words this past Friday, came on to Fallon as a trio (with a drummer added) and absolutely brought the house down with their live performance.
After catching the two making their LA debut for FYF I was completely blown away by their unfettered live set. They perform with a level of energy that very few performers can achieve, and here for their first TV performance, it was nothing short of incredible.
The track performed is driven by RZA’s machine gun rap delivery and Paul Banks’ indelible hook in the refrain. It has much heart, as it does some seriously catchy sonics.
Giant deftly amalgamates the two artists and shows the NY scene veterans definitely have some new tricks up their sleeve when they work together.
