RBMA Radio will host shows from Detroit both during the festival and in the lead-up

Red Bull Music Academy Radio will be broadcasting from May 23 to the 30 in Detroit for the Movement electronic music festival, with programming featuring a celebration of the past, present and future of music from the Motor City.

RBMA will host exclusive features throughout the week in the buildup before the much praised electronic music festival comes to the city over Memorial Day weekend.

It takes even the scantest understanding of the history of electronic music to know that Detroit is a veritable mecca of techno – the thump of the 808 is the in many ways the very heartbeat of the city.

RBMA will be providing programming that will tell the stories of the city’s venerable musical offerings, including features on the godfather of P-Funk, George Clinton, legendary proto-punks Death, Motown great Leon Ware and Detroit rap icon Danny Brown.

Throughout the week, they will have exclusive Detroit-centric content, including interviews, stories, and special performances.

When Movement kicks off for its 17th edition, RBMA will live stream performances from their very own RBMA stage at the festival all weekend, which will feature performances from Four Tet, Caribou, Justin Martin, J. Phlip and many more.

If you’re a true fan of techno or just all things to do with Detroit music, then this is not something you want to miss out on.

There will a show every day at 9pm EST by local label Interdimensional Transmissionsl
