MUTEK
MUTEK in Montreal is coming this summer, check out the full lineup below

MUTEK Montréal have revealed the second wave of artists on their 2016 lineup, this is not a festival you want to miss!

The multifarious Montréal festival returns for its 17th edition this Summer (June 1st – 5th) and it has, possibly, its best lineup. The second wave of artists includes forward thinking electronic artists like Peder Mannerfelt, Lee Gamble and Lorenzo Senni.

The five day festival is dedicated to the cutting edge electronic music that defies convention and the advancements being made in technology-based music.

MUTEK features one-of-a-kind live sets, debuts of state-of-the-art audio/visual performances and challenges to artistic, musical and technological boundaries.

From international techno masters to emerging Canadian artists with fast growing international praise. From venerable names in electronic music like Tim Hecker or burgeoning talents like sound wizard Ash Koosha. The music portion of the festival is stacked with some of the most ingenious talents, both new and established.

Not to mention that the festival can be highly educational for those uninitiated to the minutiae of electronic music and didactic for aspiring artists to catch on to the techniques and trends of tomorrow, MUTEK features panels of discussions from the greatest thinkers and developers in the industry and presentations of new innovations in performance and music production.

Think NAMM if it were dedicated to the future of electronic music, focusing on the ideas of tomorrow, no matter how fringe or quixotic, the music technology of tomorrow is in the spotlight at MUTEK along with the artists championing the new wave of electronic music giving inventive performances that feel more akin to sci-fi than reality.

It’s facile to just go to the club and listen to the bangers of today, it is more intriguing to immerse yourself in music and technology that could very well be the path of a not too distant future. And what better place to explore these ideas and listen to forward thinking music than a unique, international outing like MUTEK?
