The new red-band trailer for 3D R-rated animated movie Sausage Party has just been released – and boy is it dark.
The movie, which premiered at SXSW on Monday and will be released nationwide on August 16, follows the story of a sausage as he goes on a journey to discover the meaning of his life.
As you can imagine, the fact that his only purpose is to be boiled in a pan and eaten is not going to please him when he finds out.
All things are happy in food world as they wait in the supermarket, looking forward to the adventure of going home with a human. But once they get there, what happens next is enough to leave any food item terrified.
The movie stars Seth Rogen (who also helped write it, along with Edward Norton, James Franco, Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, Michale Cera, David Krumholtz and Nick Kroll.
Also helping with the script alongside Rogen were Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir, with Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan directing.
