An impressive NBA 2K20 cast is featured in the upcoming My Career mode of the popular video game. Among the stars showing up in the feature’s movie will be actors Lamorne Morris, Rosario Dawson, and Idris Elba as various individuals. There are plenty of other people included in the NBA 2K20 cast of characters from the acting and basketball worlds, though.

NBA 2K20 My Career mode trailer arrives

On Monday (Aug. 19), video game fans got their first look at the NBA 2K20 MyCareer movie trailer. It was quite the trailer too, as it features some Hollywood heavyweights and major NBA star power. It tells the story of a basketball player on his journey to the professional level. Star actors and athletes are part of the story and provided voices along with motion capture for scenes.

This year’s My Career was specially created by LeBron James’ SpringHill Entertainment with his business partner Maverick Carter serving as the executive producer. It appears plenty went into making this into an authentic story that follows a player’s trials and tribulations as he tries to decide what his best moves are.

Check out the full two-minute My Career mode trailer below which spotlights plenty of stars along the way.

Who’s in the NBA 2K20 cast for My Career mode?

As mentioned, Idris Elba and Rosario Dawson head up the NBA 2K20 cast of characters. Elba is the star of the hit show Luther and recently was a menacing villain in the Hobbs & Shaw movie. Dawson appeared in her recurring role as Claire on Marvel’s Netflix shows and also will appear in the Zombieland 2 movie.

They’re joined by the Verizon Wireless guy Thomas Middleditch (HBO’s Silicon Valley) and actor/comedian Lamorne Morris (New Girl, Jumanji). Also popping up is Jaleel White, best known for his role as Steve Urkel on the sitcom Family Matters. Gamers are already hoping for his classic “Did I do that?” catchphrase to show up in a scene.

In addition, there are plenty of NBA players past and present who are teased for scenes in NBA 2K20’s My Career mode. Among them are Kemba Walker and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics. We also see the Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James and his business partner Maverick Carter.

Former Lakers and new Pelicans stars Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram appear. There’s also an appearance from Scottie Pippen giving a pep talk, and there’s even a Mark Cuban sighting. Most likely, there are more NBA stars and celebs beyond those teased so far.

Another video arrived featuring the minds behind this latest addition to the My Career lineup. Based on what went into it, it certainly appears that NBA 2K20 My Career mode will have an impressive cinematic feel to it.

The new NBA 2K game officially arrives on September 6, 2019, for the Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, and Windows PC. See more details about the different NBA 2K20 editions here.
