The Curse of Oak Island Season 5 discussion
I have followed this story since I read about it in the late 60s in the WSJ. I wanted to believe there is "treasure" there but I have remained skeptical. This season has persuaded me more than other seasons that treasure is probably there. Finally they have been searching at the probable actual site instead of at 10x, the Swamp, Nolan's Cross intersections and everywhere else. Still, it is frustrating. Suddenly they are on a story line of Knights Templar.
I am bothered that every find leads to double-take reactions, phone calls to team members (the other party always answered) and breathless suggestions from the narrator that this artifact is so great.
I enjoy the show and think they are very close.
I'm not an engineer so this might sound stupid to engineers, including the Lagina entourage. Would it be possible to dig a very deep circle around the money pit targets shown on the Moving Targets episode and then send in horizontal "spokes" to the targets? Within the "spokes" could be metal detectors that could detect beyond the end of the "spokes" If a signal is heard, then the detector could be changed out to a drill and then a camera. I know, how would the earth in the circle be kept from falling back into the circle and is there equipment that can dig a circular trench?
I think they need to list to the translation of the map they brought to France , the lady translated it to say , look to the West. They need to research what that means and where to look. The money pit might not be the place to look ,it might be a distraction to where they should really be looking. I think the lead cross could have been from a jesuit priest , they need to research Native American history if possible on oak island , for clues.
I'd also like to get a look at the time line Rick asked for. Those 8 pages of the ships log, I'd love to know more detail regarding where he actually found them, In the archives I know, but where, in What book? Can they not mention the title, that might lead somewhere.
It is almost like they tease you with information, and those of us who research in their area of expertise all day, as I do, need more.
Also regarding the ships log on Halprin's map "La Chene entre ici" (translation, The Oak enter here) Does anyone remember them investigating that area?
I wonder if they ever found Marty's coin? !?, with the way they are examining the spoils, you'd think it would have shown up.
