XXXTentacion, whose real name is Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was murdered in South Florida just seven months ago and now he is a dad.

The rapper’s girlfriend gave birth to a baby boy named Gekyume Onfroy, and will be nicknamed Yume, but where did the name come from and what does it mean?

News that XXXTentacion’s girlfriend had given birth was shared by the rapper’s mother Cleopatra Bernard and his girlfriend Jenesis Sanchez on Saturday. She announced the name of the baby boy, explaining that Gekyume, his first name, comes from a word that her son made up.

In a statement to ET Online, Bernard shared the name and its unique meaning.

“We’re happy to confirm that baby and mother are healthy. Gekyume’s name is derived from a word X created prior to his passing, which means ‘a different state’ or ‘next’ universe of thought.

XXXTentacion specifically chose this name for his first born son; his family is honored to fulfill his wish and shower baby Gekyume with love.”

XXXTentacion was only 20 years old when he was shot dead in a South Florida bike lot back on June 18 in what has been described as a robbery gone wrong.

It wasn’t learned until just one day after the rapper’s death that his girlfriend Jenesis was pregnant with his child.
